RosieRI NOW continues to build our team and we need the many talents of Rhode Island NOW members. Review the list of opportunities presented below and volunteer to be a part of our growing organization to make positive change in women’s lives. Easy volunteer instructions are available at the end of this list. And, thanks for your help and continuing support.

Action Team Coordinator

Help RI NOW raise awareness about NOW’s priority issues by becoming involved in the Action Team. The Action Team is a committee of action leaders and organizers who make actions happen! Action Team members will be involved in a variety of tasks including:

  • holding regular meetings to discuss and plan action events;
  • obtaining any necessary permits;
  • creating and ensuring signs and banners are ready to convey our message; and
  • helping to get the word out to RI NOW members and supporters so that RI NOW’s turn out for actions will be as strong as possible.

Lobbying Coordinator

Help RI NOW members meet with their elected representatives. Organize lobby days to share RI NOW members perspectives on local and national issues. Everyone can call on their representatives to voice their opinion. RI NOW will help you understand the system and work with you to refine your message. RI NOW members can share information with elected officials my e-mail, by phone, by fax, but the most effective presentation is in person. Make a difference by learning how to lobby and use your own power to effect positive change.

Position Papers

Use your writing skills to help RI NOW create clear position papers on a variety of issues. These papers will be a core part of the consistent message that RI NOW will communicate to the public about who we are, why we exist, what we value, and what we stand for. RI NOW Education and Outreach Program

Are you ready to be a part of creating RI NOW’s image as an organization that has a great deal to offer the community? Help get RI NOW’s message out to the public by creating topic-oriented educational programs. These programs will be opportunities to get the word out about NOW, network with other agencies, and serve the public all at the same time.
